A seven-year build faced a shutdown decision
Founderboat’s April 23, 2025 summary of the Around the Prompt interview says StackBlitz had spent years building browser-based development tools and was preparing to wind down or scale back after ARR remained around $0.6 million to $0.7 million.
CEO Eric Simons described the change that followed: StackBlitz turned its browser development environment toward a generative-AI text-to-app experience and launched Bolt.new in October 2024.
The reported two-month ARR jump
Simons said ARR rose from about $0.7 million to $20.7 million in roughly two months after the product shift. The same interview summary says the team had about 15 employees around the $20 million ARR milestone.
These are founder interview claims relayed by Founderboat, not independently audited financial statements. ARR is not profit or recognized revenue for a completed fiscal year.
A separate company disclosure
Lovable’s official one-year post reported $200 million ARR, four months after it had announced $100 million ARR. This is a different company’s official disclosure and should not be merged with Bolt.new’s interview figures.
