A young founder changed direction
Zhang Ao studied computer science at Wuhan University and later attended the National University of Singapore. A Changjiang Daily report said he returned to Wuhan in 2025 to start Lingjing Engine. The company initially focused on AI video generation.
After a few months, the team concluded that major companies already controlled key upstream generation models and downstream short-drama distribution. Rather than stay in a crowded position, it shifted toward digital-transformation platforms for digital entertainment and immersive-display businesses.
Six weeks to build a dedicated production platform
A Shanghai short-drama company became Lingjing Engine’s first reported benchmark customer. The team built a dedicated AI production platform for that company and organized information flows across its production process. The report put the implementation period at about one and a half months.
The report then relayed that the client added RMB 40 million in revenue over the three months after the transformation. It did not publish audited financial statements or a separate analysis measuring how much of the increase was caused by the platform alone.
The RMB 40 million belongs to the client
The subject of the number matters. The reported RMB 40 million is the client’s added revenue, not Lingjing Engine’s contract value, revenue, or profit. The article describes the result after the platform transformation, but does not independently isolate the platform’s causal contribution.
The same report described a later move into AI-customized hardware. During maker-community testing, that separate project reportedly had more than 400 testers and generated nearly RMB 300,000 in revenue. Those figures refer to a different product stage and must not be combined with the Shanghai client’s revenue increase.
Sources and product context
The primary account is a Changjiang Daily reporter interview republished by Changjiang Net on June 28, 2026: https://3g.cjn.cn/Detail/?id=5492457&typeid=0. Wuhan Civilization Net published related coverage on June 29: https://hbwh.wenming.cn/rdjj/202606/t20260629_9283749.html. Both are B-level public reporting; the business figures are not audited.
Public sources do not indicate that Lingjing Engine or its customer uses APIToken. For a separate enterprise AI workflow, APIToken(https://apitoken.company/) can be used to run a small API test with a project-specific key, status checks, usage records, and a budget. This is product context, not a claim about the case technology stack.
